8th Grade Art meets for thirteen consecutive weeks. Students work in the four art processes: creating, presenting, responding, and connecting. Knowledge and skills learned and practiced in earlier grades are built upon resulting in art activities that are designed to promote 21st century readiness skills: creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. It is expected that our students will continue to take on more responsibility for their own learning in an environment that allows for creative risk taking and learning through discovery.
Watercolor Drawings
Eighth grade artists had a ball working on blind contour drawings of plants. This became the basis for some very beautiful observational drawings accented with layers of well chosen watercolor hues.
